This specimen was lot 23589 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. Sovereign, 1925-SA. Pretoria Mint. PCGS MS-65. An impressive Gem with limited handling over either sides." The Pretoria mint operated as a branch of the Royal mint, striking George V sovereigns 1923-32.

Recorded mintage: 11,108,000.

Specification: 7.98 g, 0.917 fine gold, .235 troy oz AGW.
