This specimen was lot 72468 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. Sovereign, 1927-SA. Pretoria Mint. George V. PCGS MS-63. Yielding abundant luster, this charming example displays wholesome details and a sunny hue alights the surfaces." The Pretoria mint operated as a branch of the Royal mint, striking George V sovereigns 1923-32.

Specification: 7.98 g, 0.917 fine gold, .235 troy oz AGW.
