This specimen was lot 23023 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $199.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. 3 Pence, 1927. ICG MS-63. Sharply struck with light metallic toning." The South African threepences of George V run 1923-36 with this subtype issued 1925-30. The 1927 is a common date.
