This type was struck 1911-36 at London, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Sydney and Melbourne both struck this coin in 1926 but as their products are indistinguishable, the mintage figure below includes both issues. Most of the dates are common but expensive in nice condition. Australia maintained the sterling silver standard until 1945, years after Great Britain had debased her coins to 0.500 fine.
Recorded mintage: 3,609,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 2.82 g, 0.925 fine silver, 19.5 mm diameter.
