Silesia 1694-CB 15 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 2231 in Sincona sale 94 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 80 CHF (about US$111 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Leopold I. 1657-1705. 15 Kreuzer 1694, Brieg. Münzmeister und Wardein Christoph Brettschneider. Sehr schön. Schrötlingsfehler. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold I, 1658-1705, fifteen kreuzer of 1694, Brieg mint. Very Fine, Flan flaws.)"
This type was struck 1677, 1693-94 at Brieg in Silesia. Other fifteen kreuzer were struck at Breslau (KM 462) and are much more common. One thaler was ninety kreuzer in the late seventeenth century, making this coin one-sixth thaler.
