Saxony 1694-IK 2/3 thaler KM-654
This specimen was part of lot 20421 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), which sold for $3,290. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. 1/2 & 2/3 Talers, ca. 16th to 18th Century. 14 pieces in lot. An interesting grouping of material with many better pieces. Highlights included are 1672 and 1674 Madgeburg 2/3 Talers, 1719 Saxony 1/2 Marriage Taler, 1702 & 1727 Saxony 2/3 Talers, 1535 Annaberg 1/2 Taler as well as other interesting pieces. Some have been cleaned, scratched, have corrosion and/or have other defects. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. A great lot for the intermediate or advanced collector looking to expand their collections." This rather scarce type was issued in 1694 on the death of elector Johann Georg IV.
