Künker Auction 426, lot 3789

This specimen was lot 3789 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €290 (about US$411 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Johann Georg II., 1656-1680. Wechseltaler 1670, Dresden. Min. Fassungsspuren, kl. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön +. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George II, 1656-80, "change" thaler of 1670, Dresden mint. Traces of mounting, small planchet defects, very fine or better.)"

This type was struck 1670-71. Both this and Dav-7625 are called "Wechseltalers" although only the latter bears the word "WECHSEL" on the reverse.
