Saxony 1671-CR thaler Dav-7621
This specimen was lot 3790 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €240 (about US$340 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Johann Georg II., 1656-1680. Wechseltaler 1671, Dresden. Hübsche Patina, min. Henkelspur, winz. Schrötlingsriß, sehr schön +. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George II, 1656-80, "change" thaler of 1671, Dresden mint. Handsome patina, minor mount mark and planchet crack, very fine or better.)"
This type was struck 1670-71. Both this and Dav-7625 are called "Wechseltalers" although only the latter bears the word "WECHSEL" on the reverse.
