This specimen was lot 516 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$673 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 10 Roubles 1899, St. Petersburg Mint, (FZ). About extremely fine."
This type was struck 1898-1906 and 1909-11 and is the most common ten rubles of the tsarist regime. Three mintmasters are recorded for 1899.
Recorded mintage: 27,600,000 (mintmasters АГ + ЭБ + ФЗ), most common date.
