This coin was lot 8720 in Ponterio sale 150 (Los Angeles, August 2009), where it sold for $17,250. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Rubles, 1898-AT. EXTREMELY RARE proof with mirror-like surfaces and frosted relief. NGC PF 67 CAMEO." This type was struck 1898-1911 and is the most common of the ten rubles.
Recorded mintage: 200,000.
Specification: 8.60 g, 0.900 fine gold, .248 troy oz AGW, moneyer's initials on edge.
