This specimen was lot 31400 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas II Rouble 1898-AГ MS63 PCGS, St. Petersburg mint. Obv. Bare head left. Rev. Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle with date and value. Bright luster, with a hint of golden patina and minor marks. Die-striations (as struck) are noted on both sides." The varieties, KM Y59.1, Y59.2 and Y59.3, vary in the number of stars on the rim which, unfortunately, don't show on the photos here.
Recorded mintage: 18,725,000 plus 5,000,000 (KM Y59.2) plus 14,000,000 (KM Y59.1).
Specification: 20 g, 0.900 fine silver.
