This specimen was lot 33695 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas II 15 Kopecks 1898 CΠB-AΓ MS66 NGC. A very crisp strike, fully realized details, and brilliant cartwheel luster. Few others are observed at a higher grade." The fifteen kopeks, a quasi-decimal denomination as ten and twenty kopeks were also minted, was struck in large numbers until the collapse of the regime in 1917. The communists struck a similar coin in .500 silver until 1931.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.500 fine silver.
