This specimen was lot 4856 in Goldberg sale 65 (Los Angeles, September 2011), where it sold for $1,265. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russia. Kopeck, 1866-EM. Alexander II. NGC graded MS-64 Brown." This type (Y3.3) was issued 1859-67; the preceding, very similar, type (Y3.2) was minted 1855-60. Despite the substantial mintage, this coin is not common in this quality. One hundred kopeks make a ruble.
