Stack's Bowers October 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75638

This specimen was lot 75638 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Kopek, 1874-EM. Ekaterinburg Mint. Alexander II. PCGS MS-64 Brown. A lovely near-Gem example with deep blue tone integrated into the brown surfaces." This type was minted in large quantities 1867-1914 at St. Petersburg and 1867-76 at Ekaterinburg. Most dates are common but the proofs are rare.

Specification: 3.28 g, copper, 21.6 mm diameter, reeded edge.
