Sincona sale 77, lot 3038

This specimen was lot 3038 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$304 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Alexander II. 1855-1881. Kopeck 1876, St. Petersburg Mint SPB. PCGS MS65 BN." This type was minted in large quantities 1867-1914. Most dates are common but the proofs are rare. This specimen realized almost nine times the catalog value in Uncirculated.
