This specimen was lot 75300 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Kopek, 1877-CNB. St. Petersburg Mint. Alexander II. NGC MS-64 Brown. Strikingly handsome, this imperial Russian piece renders an impressive strike and nice satiny brown surfaces occasionally streaked by mint red." This type was struck 1867-71, 1876-1914 in large numbers. The nineteenth century dates are scarce in nice condition but the later dates are common with, of course, the exception of the proofs.

Catalog reference: KM-Y9.2; Bit-538.
