Sincona sale 83, lot 3514

This specimen was lot 3514 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSLAND, 1/2 Kopeck 1841, Izhora Mint, SPM. Extremely fine." This copper type was struck 1840-42 at the Izhora (mintmark CPM) branch of the St. Petersburg mint. The reverse legend, "❁ ½ ❁/КОПѢЙКА/СЕРЕБРОМЪ", means "one half kopek silver."

Recorded mintage: 6,400,000.
