This specimen was lot 1651 in Ponterio sale 173 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $11,750. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Marriage Ruble, 1841-CNB HT. PCGS PROOF-55 Secure Holder. Reeded edge. Struck to commemorate the marriage of Alexander Nikolaevich and Princess Maria Alexandrovna." This rare type is not listed in the SCWC, likely because of its semi-medallic status, but it is mentioned in Davenport. Varieties exist.
