This specimen was lot 7177 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 1/2 Kopek (Denga), 1840-CNB. PCGS MS-64 BN. Well struck and attractive with hints of original mint red amongst the devices." This copper type was struck 1840-42 at the Izhora (mintmark CPM) branch of the St. Petersburg mint.

Recorded mintage: 6,400,000.
