Russia 1840-CPM 1/4 kopek
This specimen was lot 200 in Sincona Auction 99 (Zürich, October 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSLAND Kaiserreich und Föderation, Nicholas I. 1825-1855, 1/4 Kopeck 1840, Izhora Mint, SPM. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. (empire of Russia, Nicholas I, 1825-55, quarter kopek of 1840, Izhora mint. Rare in this condition. 0.5 rouble according to Petrov. NGC MS62 BN.)"
This type was struck 1839-46 in substantial numbers at St. Petersburg and Ekaterinburg. The quarter kopek or polushka was the lowest value Russian coin. The reverse legend, "❁ ¼ ❁/КОПѢЙКА/СЕРЕБРОМЪ", means "one quarter kopek silver."
