Stack's Bowers 2022 ANA sale, lot 36491

This specimen was lot 36491 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Kopeks, 1830-CNB-HT. St. Petersburg Mint. Nicholas I. NGC EF Details--Cleaned." This type is listed for 1826-31 and is rather scarcer than the succeeding type (KM C164.1). Copper ten kopeks (= grivennik) were also struck in the 1830's.

Recorded mintage: 500,000, a better date.

Specification: 2.07 g, 0.868 fine silver.
