This specimen was lot 2148 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russia. Poltina (½ Rouble), 1765-СПБ ЯI. Catherine II. Toned. PCGS graded AU-53." Poltinas, or half rubles, were struck throughout Catherine's reign. This particular style was struck 1764-65 and is quite expensive in nice condition. This example sold for less than half the catalog value.

Recorded mintage: 332,000 (assayers ЯI and CA).

Specification: 12 g, 0.750 fine silver.
