Sincona sale 12, lot 245

This specimen was lot 245 in Sincona sale 12 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,940 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Polupoltinnik 1765, Red Mint, E I. 'T.I.'. Good extremely fine." This type is listed for 1764-66 and mentioned as slightly scarcer than preceding or succeeding types. This specimen realized nearly five times the catalog value.

Recorded mintage: 912,000.

Specification: 5.97 g, 0.750 fine silver, this specimen 6.01 g.
