This specimen was lot 1090 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 26 (Winter Park, FL, November 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russia, silver 5 kopecks, Elizabeth, 1757-CNB, NGC AU 53, Lightly toned, parts of edge crude (as made), just a little high-point wear per the grade." This type was struck 1756-61 at the St. Petersburg mint for Elizabeth I. In 1759, the production of copper five kopeks commenced and they were produced in enormous quantities. The next silver issue was in 1797.
Recorded mintage: 3,499,000.
