Russia 1757 2 kopeks KM-C7
This specimen was lot 76676 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 2 Kopeks, 1757. St. Petersburg Mint. NGC EF Details--Environmental Damage. Overstruck on an Elizabeth Kopek. Value below reticulated edge." These were struck at Ekaterinburg, Moscow and St. Petersburg; the SCWC states they cannot be identified as to mint. Numista lists them by mint but we don't see a mintmark on this example. A "СПБ" for St. Petersburg is visible on the obverse but is almost certainly a relic of the undertype. KM C8 has the denomination ("КОПЕИКИ.") above the horseman; KM C7 has the denomination below.
Recorded mintage: 17,712,000.
Specification: 20.48 g, copper, reticulated edge, 31 mm diameter.
