Russia 1707 ruble Dav-1645
This specimen was lot 5003 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €8,500 (about US$11,456 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSLAND, KAISERREICH, Peter I. der Große, 1682-1725. Rubel 1707, Moskau, Münzhof Kadashevsky. Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit Lorbeerkranz und umgelegtem Mantel//Gekrönter Doppeladler mit Zepter und Reichsapfel in den Fängen, oben Krone. R Sehr schön. (empire of Russia, Peter the Great, 1682-1725, ruble of 1707, Moscow, Kadashevsky mint. Obverse: laureate, draped and armored bust right; reverse: crowned double-headed eagle with scepter and orb in claws. Scarce, very fine.)"
This rare type is among the first crowns of Russia. Davenport lists at least four other rubles for 1707.
