Sincona sale 12, lot 24

This specimen was lot 24 in Sincona sale 12 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 75,000 CHF (about US$97,003 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Rouble 1705, Red Mint. Very rare in such outstanding condition! 6 roubles acc. to Petrov. 5 roubles acc. to Trapeznikov. Most attrctive piece with greenish patina. Cabinet piece. About uncirculated." This rare type is among the first crowns of Russia.
