This specimen was lot 49 in Sincona sale 12 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 13,000 CHF (about US$16,814 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Rouble 1712, Red Mint. Rare. 12 roubles acc. to Petrov. 8 roubles according to Trapeznikov. Attractive very fine." This rare type is among the first crowns of Russia. This one is mintmarked "MOCKOBCKI" ("Moscow").
