The first specimen was lot 1728 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 6,500 CHF (about US$8,145 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Peter I. 1682-1725. Rouble 1707, Kadashevsky Mint, N. Rare. 10 roubles according to Petrov. NGC XF40. Nice patina." The second specimen was lot 30581 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $9,600. The catalog description[2] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1707-H (in Old Cyrillic). Moscow (Kadashevsky) Mint. Peter I (the Great). NGC AU Details--Tooled. One of the RAREST and most desirable of Peter the Great Rubles, this issue is one of the most strongly demanded of types, with a supply falling far short of demand. Attractive details remain, with only light wear on the uppermost portions of the design. The noted tooling is seen on the reverse, below both talons of the eagle, and this tooling is hard to spot. Despite its drawbacks, this example is certain to captivate many, and we expect fervent bidding for this lot. From the Sigma Collection." This rare type is among the first crowns of Russia. Davenport lists at least four other rubles for 1707. This one is dated in Cyrillic letters.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 28 g, 0.875 fine silver.
