Künker sale 405, lot 3184

This specimen was lot 3184 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,231 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS JOSEFS I. 1/4 Reichstaler 1706, mit Titel Josefs I. Münzmeister Johann Michael Federer. Stempelschneider Johann Pichler, die Rückseite vermutlich von P. H. Müller. Stadtschlüssel mit eckigen Griffen. Von größter Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (city of Regensburg, quarter thaler of 1706, struck in the name of Joseph I, city keys with square handles. Extremely rare, handsome patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

The SCWC also reports another quarter thaler of 1706 (KM 231) with an undivided date.
