Künker sale 353, lot 4176

This specimen was lot 4176 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €90 (about US$125 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Wilhelm I. 1861-1888. 1/2 Silbergroschen 1867, B. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, William I, 1861-88, half silver groschen of 1867. About uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1861-73 at Berlin ("A"), Hannover ("B") and Frankfurt ("C") and was the smallest billon denomination after the reform of 1821. It was worth 1/60 of a thaler. Most dates are common.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
