This specimen was lot 74838 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Prussia. 1/2 Groschen, 1868-C. Frankfurt Mint. Wilhelm I. NGC MS-67." This type was struck 1861-73 at Berlin ("A"), Hannover ("B") and Frankfurt ("C") and was the smallest billon denomination after the reform of 1821. It was worth 1/60 of a thaler. Most dates are common.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.
