Künker sale 353, lot 4111

This specimen was lot 4111 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €95 (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm IV. 1840-1861. Taler 1856, A. Ausbeute. Sehr schön. Der vorliegende Münztyp ab 1853 mit älterem Porträt. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William IV, 1840-61, thaler of 1856, very fine. Modified type with the older portrait.)"

This mining thaler of 1853-56 is fairly common.
