Künker sale 353, lot 3919

This specimen was lot 3919 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €40 (about US$56 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm II. 1786-1797. Ku.-1/2 Kreuzer 1797, B, Breslau. Prägung für Schlesien. Sehr schön. Erworben am 5.11.1975. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William II, 1786-97, copper half kreuzer of 1797, Breslau mint, struck for Silesia. Very fine.)"

This type was struck 1788-89, 1794-97, and is fairly common. "SCHLES: LAND MUNZE" means "provincial con of Silesia".

Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.
