Künker sale 353, lot 3670

This specimen was lot 3670 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €25 (about US$35 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Schilling 1786, E, Königsberg. Prägung für die Provinz Preußen. Sehr schön. Erworben am 11.7.1988 von Wolfgang Rittig, Schwelm. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, schilling of 1786, Königsberg mint, struck for the province of Prussia. Very fine.)"

This type was struck at Berlin in 1776 and at Königsberg 1771, 1775-86. The Berlin issue is quite scarce, this one is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: 830,250.

Specification: 0.69 g, 0.052 fine silver, 14-15 mm diameter, this specimen is 0,68 g.
