The first specimen was lot 1220 in a Soler y Llach sale (Barcelona, January 2010). The type is recorded in the SCWC as being issued 1706-08 and 1750; all dates of this cruzado are scarce but this one is the most available. It was marked 400 réis but traded for 480 réis. Other issues of this denomination during this period were in gold. King João V died in 1750, to be succeeded by José I (r. 1750-77).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 14.7-17.3 g, 0.917 fine silver, 35 mm diameter.
