This five piso was struck by the Franklin Mint to honor Ferdinand Marcos, who also appeared on the silver fifty piso (KM 212). The circulation issue (shown here) was probably made in Manila. The currency was reformed in 1967 and all the World War era coinage struck in the USA was demonetized.

Recorded mintage: 20,000,000 for circulation plus 3,850 in matte finish, 7,875 in brilliant finish and 39,000 proofs.

Specification: 22 g, nickel, 36.5 mm diameter.
