The first specimen was lot 23062 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $305.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 1/4 Real, 1792L-IJ. NGC EF-45. Good strike with a bold portrait and dark attractive toning." This type was struck 1792-95 and is much rarer than the familiar "lions and castles" type which commenced in 1796.
