This type is listed in the SCWC for 1736 along with at least eight other types of testone. This one is scarce. The testone was thirty baiocchi, while the piastra, the Italian equivalent of the German thaler, was 105 baiocchi. The second specimen was lot 399 in Schulman auction 379 (Amsterdam, June 2024), where it sold for €550 (about US$707 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy - Mezza piastra or 1/2 Piastre Year 7/1736, Silver, CLEMENTE XII 1730-1740, MONETE PAPALI / PAPAL STATES Bust right. Rev. facade of the San Giovanni dei Fiorentini. R Light toning. Extremely fine."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 7.93 g, silver, 0.917 fine. The second specimen is 14.64 g.
