Papal States 1736 grosso KM-870

from the Tom Fitzgerald Collection

This date is listed in the SCWC for 1736-38 along with KM 871 with a different reverse motto. A closely related issue, without "1736" and bearing regnal year VI, is also recorded. The grosso was five baiocchi or one twentieth of a scudo. Many varieties were issued in the 1730's.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
