Papal States 1736 testone KM-875
This specimen was lot 641 in Jean Elsen sale 132 (Brussels, March 2017), where it sold for €220 (about US$279 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIE, ETATS PONTIFICAUX, Clément XII (1730-1740), (Lorenzo Corsini), AR teston, 1736, an 7, Rome. D/ B. à d. R/ COMMODITAS VIARVM REDVX La Fortune allongée à g., ten. une roue. Très Beau. (Italy, Pontifical State, Clement XII (1730-40), silver teston of 1736, year 7, Rome mint. Obverse: bust to right; reverse: Fortune lounges to left, holding a wheel. Very fine.)"
This is a fairly scarce type. Another testone exists with the same reverse but with the papal arms on the obverse (Ber-2620). This type is listed in the SCWC for 1736 along with at least eight other types of testone, all scarce.
