This specimen was lot 1403 in Künker sale 403 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €38,000 (about US$49,860 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PAPST INNOCENZ XI., 1676-1689. Die Münzstätte Rom. Quadrupla AN II (1676/1677), Rom. Stempelschneider Giovanni Hamerani. INNOCEN • XI • PONT • MAX • AN • II Brustbild r. in geistlichem Ornat, darunter die Stempelschneidersignatur (Verzierung) • H • (Verzierung)//SVB • TVVM • - • PRÆSIDIVM Madonna mit dem Kind auf dem linken Arm thront v. v., zu den Seiten stehen der Heilige Laurentius mit Rost und der Heilige Stephanus mit Märtyrerpalmzweig, unten kniend der Heilige Augustinus und der Heilige Franziskus von Assisi, im Abschnitt das Wappen des Presidente della zecca, Monsieur Ferdinando Raggi, zwischen RO - MÆ. . GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Winz. Stempelfehler, vorzüglich. (Papal States, Innocent XI, 1676-89, quadrupla of the year 2, Rome mint. Obverse: bust right in ornate robes, engraver's initials below; reverse: Madonna and Child enthroned with St. Laurence and St. Stephen (with palm branch) while St. Augustine and St. Francis of Assisi worship, the mintmaster's arms in the exergue. Extremely rare, planchet defects, extremely fine.)"

The reverse quotes from the ancient prayer, "Sub tuum praesidium confugimus, Sancta Dei Genetrix. Nostras deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus, sed a periculis cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta. Amen." = "We fly to thy protection, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen." Depicted are the enthroned Madonna and child with SS. Lawrence and Augustine at left and SS. Stephen and Francis of Assisi at right
