Künker sale 403, lot 1396

This specimen was lot 1396 in Künker sale 403 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €600 (about US$787 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PAPST CLEMENS X., 1670-1676. Die Münzstätte Rom. Grosso o. J., Rom. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Tönung, vorzüglich. (Papal States, Clement X, 1670-76, undated grosso, Rome mint. Scarce in this quality, attractive example with fine toning, extremely fine.)"

This is one of several undated grossi issued by Clement X; this one shows his arms on the reverse.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.57 g, 0.917 fine silver, this specimen 1,59 g.
