This type was the second fiorino di camera struck at Rome for pope Julius II (1503-13). We believe the fiorino (florin) to be the same denomination as the ducat or zecchino. Friedberg records the first fiorino from 1475 and the last from the reign of Paul III (1534-49).

Specification: 3.39 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW.
