This specimen was lot 30787 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "Papal States. Julius II gold Ducat ND (1503-13), Bologna mint, XF45 NGC. Boldly struck details on both sides with just some superficial deposits on the coat of arms. Very scarce type." The Bologna mint began issuing gold for the popes during the reign of Urban VI (1378-89) and continued until Pius VI (1774-99).
