This specimen was lot 74837 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Middlesex. Political & Social Series. Spence's Copper 1/2 Penny Token, ND (ca. 1790s). NGC MS-62 Brown. Variety struck without collar. Edge: Plain. A Mint State "hangman" type, this warm brown example presents a level of quality that is SCARCELY encountered for the issue."
