This specimen was lot 74833 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Middlesex. Spence's Copper 1/2 Penny Token, ND (ca. 1790s). PCGS MS-63 Red Brown. Edge: SPENCE x. Featuring Cain slaying Abel, this Choice example presents a somewhat mottled nature to the red and brown." note the reversed "N's".
