This specimen was lot 50233 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $201.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Pesos, 1920-M. NGC AU-58." The type is familiar to bullion investors as the 1955 five pesos has been restruck in large quantities by the Mexican government. However, the 1920, tho not rare, is not to be found on every street corner.
Recorded mintage: 2,385,000.
Specification: 4.17 g, 0.900 fine gold, .120 troy oz AGW.
