This bronze twenty centavos was issued by the Mexico City mint during a temporary surge in the price of silver. Later in the year, silver minting resumed and this coin was recalled and demonetized, leaving this date very scarce today. A similar coin was issued in 1935 during a similar crisis but the 1935 issue is not so scarce. Bronze one, two, five and ten centavos also exist.

Recorded mintage: 4,835,000.
