Shown is an 1897ZsZ balance scale five centavos, of a type struck 1870-1897. This issue from Zacatecas is common. Other mints include Hermosillo, Mexico City, Durango, Culiacan, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Alamos and Potosi. The Zacatecas mint closed in 1905. Assayer FZ served 1886-1904.
Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, .039 troy oz ASW.
